Meaning, in my case, there is no access to source code, so, zero chance of making any alterations to reply to behavior. The lists to which I can simply reply have "Reply-To:" in the headers, The ones to which I must "reply all" do not. They all have "List-Id:": and other list specific items in the header. >> > >> > That approach is the fast way to my bit‑bucket :) i.e. you may not get >> > many replies if you persist in being impolite. >> >> I was not attempting at all to be impolite. I am not "defending" a thing. I am explaining why an occasional "off list" response may occur. When I get the occasional "off list" email from a member of some list I haunt, I simply delete it and get on with my life. >> Been in this business for 5 Decades in various capacities. > > and you are probably younger than I am, but if "5 Decades" is indeed true, > you should be more critical of yourself as I recall that little latitude > was given in the early days. Why the implied doubt of my veracity? Even on the strictest lists, or hose noted for "flames", I never saw anything more than genteel reminders for such breeches of expected behavior. The first couple of time, anyway. >> If I misjudged your comments, my apologies. > > maybe better to just correctly configure your chosen mail client. > -- Which, I have stated above and previously, is not possible. Perhaps you need to adjust your tolerance quotient a bit for the situation others may be in. Thanks for your comments. I consider the matter addressed and closed. joe a.
