You are nowhere required to provide a *correct* address, ..., except for an email address to receive notification. Last time I checked, mandatory ment an entry was required, not an *accurate* entry.
He is right that SUSE, aka Novell, aka Atachmate, is wrong requiring such private data to register in order to post a bug for an opensource project. It is excesive. Many people complain because of this, an many turn away and do not register. This is a known fact. You are also right that you can write false data on the form, and many do so; but this is also wrong.
