I followed your suggestions, but I got a bad problem: a "kernel panic" because there must have been something wrong when usb-ohci was included. /etc/sysconfig/kernel looked like this:
INITRD_MODULES="reiserfs" INITRD_MODULES="usb-ohci"
I have SUSE 8.0 (not 8.1). Any suggestions ? Thanks, Riccardo,Italy.
Hi Riccardo, First of all, usb-ohci is not necessarily correct. It might be usb-uhci as well, this depends on your mobo chipset. I can't tell you more about that, both of my boxen got usb-ohci. Next, I never wrote the initrd_modules in two lines, so I'm not sure if this is all right. Just write in one line: INITRD_MODULES="reiserfs usb-ohci" Then, run mk_initrd after that. 8.0 defaults to lilo as a bootloader, so you have to run lilo as well (both as root on the command line).
