I know this is way OT, but has anyone noticed there is a small, but a growing number of people on this list who attack democracy, or hint that socialism is better? It seems that it is a disturbing trend - if those who already think that the oss movement is socialist, see such posts, it could certainly hurt Open Source.
Please note that not everyone who's not amused by democracy advocates socialism. For that matter, even if there, don't forget that not everyone on the list is from the US and Western Countries. Even if they are, they may not share you views. And for the record, I was not "attacking" democracy in any sense that would infer I'd like to do away with it.
