MPlayer will do this very nicely. IIRC, something like: mplayer [URL] -dumpstream -dumpfile [filename]
I've found this works very nicely for BBC files (usually RealAudio).
Now I need to get an actual URL out of the Beeb. <sigh> I thought there was a way to tap into the stream as it was coming in and put a copy on disk, possibly tapping the sound out to the speakers as the input for this. Google has a lot of help, but not I'm not seeing anything simple enough for a non-tech like the Boss to use. Mike
