Most of the time if I post a message to any of the opensuse mail lists I get my post back as an incoming message within (very often) ~15 seconds.
However, I have also noticed that some posts may take a loooooong time to come back to me.
Yes, that is true. Hours some times. I think they (novell/suse) have problems at some of their servers, erratically. Just examine the received list on one of those delayed emails. For example, on your own email: sent 23:38:07 +1100 mx1.suse.de 13:38:10 +0100 (CET) relay2.suse.de 13:38:12 +0100 (CET) amavisd-new 13:38:12 +0100 (CET) relay2.suse.de 13:38:13 +0100 (CET) lists4.suse.de 12:34:59 +0000 (GMT) lists4.suse.de 12:35:56 +0000 (GMT) IMPmx1.adm.correo 13:53:02 +0100 (a server at my ISP ) elessar 13:53:02 +0100 (this computer) Observe that the "lists4.suse.de" has a slow clock, probably they don't run ntp on it. And it takes some time to send email to my ISP, even considering the slow clock. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
