I'm not sure if I followed the thread correctly, however, I got tired of trying to get a Windoz Wireless adapter working. So I did some research and found that ZyXEL G-220 V-2 was supposed to work great.
IT DID - NO HASSLES - SUSE 11.1 - found it, installed the correct driver and was off and running in less than half and hour (Once I finally figured out my U-Verse gateway security password)

I will keep you posted Thanks
In the first link, replace apt-get with zypper; the 3rd link is the actual driver. And please stop top-posting.
