Just to add my 2 cents to this browser conversation. I went to Capital One's site yesterday for the first time to check my open credit on my CC. Netscape 6, Mozilla and Konqueror are forbidden to be used on this companies website. I did get in with an older beta of Opera6 which instills SO much confidence in me. I called their 1-800 and I was told that Netscape 6.X and Mozilla DO not support 128bit SSL connections and therefore I couldn't use them. It was for security reasons. I proceeded to tell the woman that if she wanted to discuss security ..we were going to have a "coming to Jesus" meeting because that's what my job pays me that high 5 figure salary for...and we discussed it. She said I could "write an email" I said I was not going to do that and that if their service was so behind and so backwards that they would let IE w/ it's many security holes and Netscape 4.X into their site I was going to be writing a letter of cancelation to their company and I was going to transfer the balence of my CC from them to another card. I told I just don't feel safe using such a backwards financial institute. Lets just face it..the MCSD's and lazy webdevelopers have taken over the web...it's a big ole POS. You can spoof the id of the browser and it should work. You can have mozilla identify itself as IE or whatever and it should work, but I wouldn't. I would just change banks. * Jonas Helgi Palsson (jonas@mi.uib.no) [020224 16:32]: ->On Friday 22 February 2002 19:50, Keith Winston wrote: ->> On Fri, Feb 22, 2002 at 10:00:59PM +0700, Constant Brouerius van Nidek ->wrote: ->> > My daughter and I have both SuSe 7.3 with Opera 5 installed.
