In the past week or so, I've noticed a problem with Youtube in that many videos will no longer play. I now get the dot going around in a circle, but no video. This even happens with videos I had previously watched. It happens with Firefox, Chrome and Seamonkey browsers. However, they work fine on Windows 10 in a VirtualBox VM. I'm running 42.2 & KDE and the problem happens on both my desktop and notebook computers.
Has anyone else experienced this?
No... Could you mention some link so that others can try?
Well, I first noticed the issue when I came across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8tdmaEhMHE
Since I was quite familiar with the original version of the song, "One Toke Over The Line", I thought I'd play this version for a laugh (The duo signing it are obviously clueless about the lyrics). When I found it, a couple of weeks ago, it played fine. Then last week, I wanted to send it to a friend, but now it wouldn't play for me on Linux, but would on Windows.
If you're not familiar with the original, you may want to play it first. Here it is and it still works for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rzqq581Q3Us
After playing it, watch the other one, to see how clueless those two are. ;-)
Here's another one I played recently, but no longer works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5nyALPgxro
And another: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcC-SbcihKI
Here's another one that still works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cXrEPNvRO8
I can see no pattern here, other than they are all songs I've enjoyed.
I can confirm all the videos work on this setup, which is Leap 42.2. I tested it on Firefox. Regards. -- Sudhir Anand -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
