How can I tell it to NEVER pop up, unless manually requested? It is a real nuisance. I hadn't this nasty behaviour a few months back - 10.2/10.1?
You can either dock it, or goto View > Toolbars and remove the check beside Table.
I don't want it docked, there is no space, and it uses a lot. I don't want it anywhere.
The View > Toolbars > Table is not checked, no effect. I had already tried that. It automatically checks itself back whenever I cursor over a table.
I'm having the same problem with the "bullets" tool box. I do not want _any_ tool box automatically popping in! I have only a 1024*768 display, there is no space for so much clutter. That's fine for OOo developers having a state of the art computer, not for normal people out there :-(
Bob,
Bob?
Only workaround is to let the dialog open, then while you are still in the table, click the X to close the dialog and it will remain closed while you are in the document from then on unless you call it back up. Same for the other dialogs. But this is required each time you open the document. My letterhead is a table -- I hate it too.
Doesn't work. There are several tables in my documents: if you close it in one that way, it pops back in when I get to the next table. The only method that seems to work is to cycle through all the tables in the document, and close the popup in /view/tools/table. Every one of them. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
