Hi Reg, your problem sounds weird, somehow things seem screwed up. In your situation, I'd boot the emergency system and have a stroll round the system. I'd use yast (go into partitioning) to see what partition yast (fdisk, linux whatever) sees, and make a notes about the found partitions and types. Next step is -trial and error- to mount every obvious linux partition to /mnt and look at it. By the files seen, I'd continue to fill my little table with the correct mount points. After that, i'd try to recreate /etc/fstab with the proper entries. After that, it's reboot time. good luck!
