I've tried connecting to my mail server via IPv6. While it works fine when connecting from the computer the server is running on, I cannot connect from another computer via IPv6. It works fine using IPv4 from any computer.
Find out what your mail server is listening on - netstat will tell you. It's odd that you can connect locally but not remotely - that sounds like a firewall issue.
As I understand it, I may have to make a change in /etc/xinetd.d/imap, but I'm not sure exactly what. Any ideas?
The obvious thing is to have xinetd listen for both ipv4 and ipv6, but when you're connecting locally, it must be doing that already (unless you didn't connect using ipv6 when you tried locally?) -- Per Jessen, Zürich (14.1°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
