If you install openSUSE on a machine which already has a windows partition taking up the whole disk, the install wants to shrink that windows partition to make room for the new linux partitions(s), and to shrink a partition, it should be defragmented first, to avoid its taking a very long time, and to avoid risk of corrupting the windows partition.
Good point! The OP has been terse and didbn't say if he was trying to INSTALL or not.
Yes there is a way of running linux from a file on a windows partition, but you normally don't want to do that
:-) !!
And yes, if all you want to do is to run a live CD, then none of this is necessary.
Which makes me wonder. The OP has been very terse about what he's actually doing - the hardware, why Puppy, which version, option he's taken ... -- The quality of a leader is reflected in the standards they set for themselves. -- Ray Kroc, Founder of McDonald's -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
