OK, I tried Ogle... it is easier to install, just 3 or 4 rpms (one of them I couldn't/needed, since I already have xine, I think libdvdcss)... but I am not impressed. The GUI is much less appealing (and I won't use another adjetive because I do not want to hurt anybody feelings), there is some junk on the menus that I do not see with Xine,
Do you want to play with the GUI or watch movies? 8-)
and I cannot play DivX/XviD... finally the image is squashed horizontally (taller tha wider)...
I haven't tried divX, so I have no opinion here. You can resize ogle very easily with the mouse. I usually watch it full screen.
Being fair I have to admit that with Xine the image is more pixelated than with ogle... although with ogle the image is smaller and squashed; I think this problems with ogle and xine, has to do with the fact that my video card (i830m) does not support Xv (with out some tweaking, that I have not attempted yet). So the images in xine are pixelated, and in ogle are squashed and do not fit the whole of the screen (the video does not scale).
Anyway. Xine is more like winDVD, including DivX and Xvid support and the ability to be remotely controlled.
