Hi All
I have my Linux box set to configure the NIC using DHCP. Sometimes when I start my linux box the DHCP server is not running and so the NIC is configured later when / if the DHCP server is booted, no problems here. The problem I have is that if the DHCP server is not running Samba does not start, which is correct. What I need is some way of automatically starting Samba as soon as the NIC is configured. Does anyone have any ideas how to do this please.
Use a script that looks if the NIC is configuerd or not. Start it at boottime.
