For example, some ATI cards requires custom settings for displaying Xv correctly.
hi all,
I have recently purchased a new motherboard (Asus A7S8X-MX) based on Sis 741GX chipset. All seems to be working (video/sound/nic/USB), but I do have some minor problem: namely, the Xv extension of X11 doesn't work with the video.
I encountered this problem with MPlayer (from packman). The default MPlayer uses Xv extension, resulting in *BLUE* windows no matter what file-format it is playing. If I use "-vo" option and specify other
(such as "-vo x11"), the movie plays fine. The only problem with this solution is that re-sizing video-windows does NOT work: it cannot be resized.
According to the manual pages in x.org, the Xv extension is enabled by default for Sis chipset. What can I do to fix the "blue" screen
