Hi all, using k3b or growisofs I can burn DVD only choosing write speed AUTOMATIC (k3b) or not to select -speed=N option (growisofs).
This is the system answer when I tried to chenge write speed: :-( Failed to change write speed: 0->2770
This error appears both I'm a normal user or I'm root Can anyone tell me why? Is there any configuration process to be done?
I'm using Suse 9.1 and a Sony-DRU-530A DVD recorder

Verifying that it happens to me also and it took a long time to figure out. I have a Teac CDRW and it doesn't matter what type of media or media manufacturer I use. Auto is the only speed K3b knows although it burns at the fastest speed it can for the media and the 'speed' of the media.

Same for xcdroast and it seems to produce good media. Previously when I could select the speed, I'd find that the CD didn't always work on all other boxes. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and Keen Flyer =====ALMOST ALL LINUX USED HERE, Solaris 10 SPARC is just for play=====
