While installing suse8.1 the os found the scanner but not the Epson Perfection 2400 Photo. It did have the 2450 listed which I believe is the preceding model. I chose the 2450 but I don't think it accepted my choice. Epson says it does not support linux!
1. How can I find out what the os has used for the scanner, if anything?
2. Is there a way to update the scanner database to include the 2400?
3. If the above does not work should I force the use of the 2450 and if yes, How?
thanks
Hi Serge,
I assume you are right with the assumption of the preceding model. I am
resending my message to the list about how I set up the Epson 1660,
which shows the same 'problem' - it is the successor to the well-known
1650, and it is unknown to default SuSE 8.1
SINCE .. these questions arise from time to time, wouldn't it be great
to have a newer version of sane (1.0.9 should be out by now, 8.1 ships
with 1.0.8) and an update to YaST2-config-scanner via YOU ???!??!??
Cheers .... Wolfi
