2 suggestions. 1: make sure you are starting with an empty session, i.e Control Center>KDE Components>Session Manager>Start with an empty session. 2: delete/move to trash your kwin config files in your ~/.kde/share/config/kwin* and logout and then back in. HTH. BTW, wouldn't it be easier to create a new user and get the kde settings to work like you want, or mv your whole .kde directory and start fresh, than to reinstall 9.1? I also assume you have installed the kde 3.3.1 update to 9.2.

creating an empty session makes not the silghtest differance at all the darn icons still do not do what I want them to but what KDE/Suse want them to whic is not my idea of desktop configuration it is updated to the latest KDE updates 3.3.1 makes no change .. One thing most definatley OFF the list is reinstalling 9.2 it took days to get it to install and untill i get issued with a new install disc by Suse it will not be tryed again no thanks . i actually had to start a windBloZe install and crash it out to even get 9.2 to consider installing at all and i sent the M$ Corp packing after i blagged use of it .
