But this problem is completely independent of the time starting YaST takes! The main repository changes seldomly, see http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3/repo/oss/suse/repodata/ It has been never changed since the release of 10.3. Thus, there is no strong need to activate the automatic refresh in YaST for such a repository. Consequently, there will not take place any data transfer when starting YaST, AFAIK. BTW: IIRC, Robert never talked about "slow updates" but had problems after adding the main repository in the past. Thus, the new subject is somewhat misleading, IMHO. Jan -- Do not tell big lies.
