Well still on it... ;-) funky@linux:~> ls -ls ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc 8 -rw------- 1 funky users 6644 2003-01-01 17:22 /home/funky/.kde/share/config/kmailrc I have tried what Jon said many thanks..:-> but still can't get kmail to run under this particular account 'funky'. This app works ok under the new account ??? I do a compare of the two ~ directories & can't find out why, what is happening? Can I do a diff on two directories & files at the same time for file permissions, owners, filesizes, dates etc... to get to the bottom of this problem? Tia Dre
Your problem is not in /tmp, it is in your home directory. Try Jon's suggestion (rename or backup your kmailrc file). If that isn't it, look at your mailbox files. Compare with your new test user that works. You'll find it soon. :-)
