I ran apt-get install synaptic, but it said I already had it....I have .26. I tried looking using synaptic and the update wasn't listed. I really couldn't figure what else to do.

Add the apt component "extra" in the sources.list file in the line looking like the one listed below: rpm ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt SuSE/8.2-i386 update base .. extra Than do an apt-get update, now you can perform the apt-get install and upgrade actions. The new version of apt delivers a wrapper around apt-get called apt-rpm. apt-rpm accepts some rpm arguments like --test, --force, etc. Check man apt-rpm for details. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
