Xine coming with SuSE 8.2 is not quite complete as far as know and some files are not distributed due to license issues. One thing is to go to this page http://packman.links2linux.org/. Click on the english flag if needed and download all necessary files under xine-lib, xine-ui, libdvd* and install them. Then run xine and press the left mouse key (if you are right handed) and choose the preferences or options. Then you can configure everything you like. I was trying to run xine and it seems that it isn't configured from the install. Furthermore, there is not xine-config script as mentioned in the docs.
So what are you supposed to do in order to get xine running?
