wrote regarding [SLE] setup of D-Link ISA network card DE-220PCT: As setting up a "tulip" PCI network card was very easy, I can't figure out how to configure a D-Link ISA network card DE-220PCT. I tried to load the ne2000 / ne1000 (ISA) module but it doesn't seem to work.
Please help as I can't go much further without network (cable net connection)!
According to SuSE Hardware Database a whole bunch of D-Link 220 cards are supported by the kernel, but DE-220 PCT isn't specifically mentioned. I remember, that it was reported about one of them, that it didnt work, probably because it was damaged. I have tried to set up such a card (rev D2), but couldn't make it work. Pnpdump gave no information, and I tried with the ne2k-diag tool, but could not get anyt usefull information from that either. So I wonder if it is supported at all.
Must be another of the the cards, because this one's definitely supported - I've got two of them in this machine. I used the 'ne' module. It helps to specify the io and irq of the cards. You may have to use the DOS utility that comes with the card for this. Kernel ISAPNP worked for me for this 2.4.3 kernel (although only on the first card).
