* michael norman (micnorman@lineone.net) [020705 10:48]: ::How did you install them. Uvh --nodeps --force as I think you have suggested ::for previous new versions of KDE ? I installed the 8.0 pkgs that way. I download them to a directory such as "KDE-3.0.2" in /tmp then make three directories "apps, base and dev". Then I go in and install dev then base then apps with the switches you see above. I run SuSEconfig after each batch of pkgs. I'm not sure if this has to be done now. But it worked for me with 2.X.X and I stick with it. Under 7.3 which is what I'm still running at home. I do the same thing with the directories but use yast1 to install them. And they were right. The pkgs for 7.3 and below have the AA bit turned off. I emailed Adrian asking him about it. He said there were to many problems with 7.3 and below so he turns it off and will not turn it back on. So I guess it's either use 8.0 or compile the stuff ourselves. I personally use Mutt for email and Mozilla for browsing..so I just enabled freetype in the unix.js for Mozilla and I use Mads favorite font for xterms which is screen. :) -=Ben --=====-----=====-- mailto:ben@whack.org --=====-- Tell me what you believe..I tell you what you should see. -DP --=====-----=====--
