I might be inclined to try your solution(s) were it not for the general instabilities I've noticed ever since that last official 13.1 update for systemd. This machine's been pretty much rock solid the last couple of years but in the last few weeks I've had kernel panics and other things going awry, and it all seemed to start with that patch. I was putting off the upgrade to Leap because Plasma 5.4 didn't have everything I needed but since the 5.5 update has landed I'll probably just have to bite the bullet.
There have been a second patch to systemd that corrected most of the problems of the first patch, and another kernel update, that also works better. 3.12.53-40-desktop systemd-210-43.1.x86_64 - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
