Hello All,
I have been playing around with the $PATH variable in Suse for a while, and there were some things that really bugged me:
2.) $JAVA_HOME. I also had a computer that was running 7.3, upgraded to 8.0. The JRE /SDKis outdated and I can run some of the java programs that run on 1.3 +. I installed JRE 1.3. Since the PATh is still set to the old version of JRE, I still can't run the java programs without explicitly writing the 1.3 directory in the command line. I tried removing the old java, but it was still looking for the old java. I also tried modifying JAVA_HOME ... with the newer JRE but I got errors that said "Couldn't find java, javac etc"
Has anyone dealt with this problem? If yes, what's a way to get around it? Thanks, I appreciate the help.
Have you looked at the scripts in /etc/java? -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
