Iirc, if you boot off the disc, there should be an option to boot installed system either before installation or when you cancel install. You can reinstall the kernel and anything that has to do with yast2.
If you'd rather not try to guess what needs to be installed, boot off the disc and select the repair installation option.

I can boot now, but issues with yast2 still remains.
