I always wonder why there are people who use a different DE (among those who do use a DE) and which be their reasons...I couldn't think of anything better, I only miss sometimes the mouse wheel scrolling speed setting, I'm looking forward for it to be re-implemented
So, why don't you use KDE? And why do you use (not-KDE)?
Ran 5.7.9 when it was first committed on Github months ago. Could have booted my current 15.0/KDE3 box from Power-Off to full Desktop 5 times in the time it took for Plasma to go from login to full desktop. KDE3 loads in 286K, Plasma many times that. Only have to make notes to self or kde3 list on what I would like to fix, even with 5.7.9 many of the 100+ bugs written against its early versions still are not fixed. Second choice for desktop - Fluxbox. Dead bang simple. Fully capable Linux desktop. Much easier config that icewm, it is a "Boxtop" (of blackbox origin so it share with blackbox/openbox, etc..) Minuscule memory requirement. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
