Both gwdg.de and mathematik.uni seem to have been faulty most of today. Broadband download speeds from either repository have only been a few thousand Kb/s dropping down to a few hundred. (Worse that when I was on dial-up!). They have downloaded for a few seconds and then there have been periods of about 30 seconds with no activity. It's taken a long time to download anything - even of just a few Mb!
Now I can't download anything. Whenever I try, I get an "unknown signature" error message and *nothing* will download. Even trying to install the various rpm signatures gives me the "unknown signature" message and they won't download. I have deselected the "check signature" in synaptic, but it makes no difference.
Is anyone else experiencing this, or must it be a large problem here? It's the first time this has happened.
Thanks
Keith
apt-get update work ok (and fast) for me. Can not check the actual update, as there is nothing new since yesterday

Thanks for your reply.
I ought to have added that apt-get update hasn't been too bad for speed, it's the downloading of the packages which has been the problem.
