Hi, I am trying to get OpenSuse 13.2 to run on Lenovo IdeaPad305-15. It uses intel 915 driver for X11. As soon as it boots X, the screen goes blanc. I am guessing the backlight gets turned off, because I can see the outlines of the login box very faintly. There are no obvious error and warning messages in the logs. I tried several recipes from the internet to get everything to start. If I use "nomodeset" option to boot, X does not start at all. "acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor" still results in blank screen. The only way I can boot is by using "nomodeset x11failsafe" option, which means that a vesa driver is used. What else can I do to get the intel driver to boot?
