Hi People
Hi Cornelius, Could you please plug in your device, wait about 10 secs, and provide the /proc/bus/usb/devices and dmesg outputs ? Rui
Maybe some of you can help me here. I got a e220 Huawei Modem 2 days ago and would like to use it. My first problem was that when I plugged it into the computer it picked it up as a CD ROM. Basically Vodafone packages the drivers as a sort of Autoplay function for the windoze people.
I installed a "device" rule which allowed me to see the Modem. I ran Kppp setup the modem and used the modem terminal to actually talk to it. I could successfully send my pin number and check signal strength. So far so good.... then I setup the account. When I connect with Kppp it connects then dies with an error stating Protocol-Reject for 'Compression Control Protocol' (0x80fd) received.
I phoned the helpdesk. Waited 15 minutes and was told that Vodafone does not support Linux. So armed with this I just went through the account settings and made sure that everything is fine. Well my account is setup correctly and my modem is responding. Anyone out there have any ideas?
Regards Neil
