Two questions about Konqueror:
1. Is Dolphin now as capable as Konqueror?
For me, yes it is. What do _you_ need from Konqueror? If it is not yet supported, I will file a feature request.
2 If not, can Konqueror be chosen as a standard file browser/manager just like in KDE 3? I would assume such is the case.
Yes it can, but some features are not available yet. That is why I need to know which features _you_ use.
When I tried Dolphin, it lacked sorely in functionality. In Konqueror 3, there are ten different view modes, not so in Dolphin.
Dolphin was terrible when it first came out, but now it is great. I suggest that you give it two days of usage, and make a list of the issues that you had. Send me that list, we will fix them one by one.
Further, in Konqueror 3 there is a Create Image Gallery function. That was nowhere to be found in Dolphin's opensuse 11.1.
I don't think that you will ever see that in Dolphin. But it can be added to Konqueror in KDE 4.
Does the latest Dolphin now show the meta data for any given file, like what Konqueror does in KDE 3?

Does Konqueror 4 now include all these functions and more, so that it is finally as functional as Konqueror 3?
No, that's why I need you to comment on the bugs! If it's just Dotan complaining, not much will be done. Tens of users backing me up will get the features implemented.
That Konqueror 3 function, which was absent in both Konqueror 4 and the Dolphin of 11.1, gives Meta Info for all sorts of files directly from the file browser.
As you can see, this is extremely useful.
I know, it's great.
Has the functionality been downgraded? If so, it has to be restored as soon as possible.
