So I'm configuring postfix, and I am trying to send it out through postfix via my ISP's smtp server, and I got stuck with: relay=outgoing.verizon.net[206.46.232.12]:25, delay=3148, delays=3148/0.27/0.4/0, dsn=4.7.0, status=deferred (SASL authentication failed; cannot authenticate to server outgoing.verizon.net[206.46.232.12]: no mechanism available) in my main.cf: mydestination = $myhostname, $mydomain, localhost.$mydomain smtpd_sasl_security_options = noanonymous smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes smtp_sasl_password_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/relay_passwords smtp_sasl_mechanism_filter = plain, login smtp_sasl_type = cyrus relayhost = outgoing.verizon.net in my relay_passwords.db: outgoing.verizon.net user:sercret # postconf -A cyrus Cyrus plain is installed and verizon accepts plain and login when starting postfix (or service postfix restart) in the /var/log/mail:: warning: SASL authentication failure: No worthy mechs found I hope all this information helps.
