In KDE 3.. open apps appeared on the taskbar. In KDE 4.3.1 I see teh same thing when logged on as root, but they are absent when logged on as a user (the vast majority of the time).
I can't seem to find a way to correct this problem,
Thanks in advance.
Right click the task bar, select task manager settings, set filters at the bottom. Unchecking all three will show your tasks.
Many thanks for your reply. Here is what happens when I right click the taskbar: When the widgets are locked I have two choices: Set Flexible Size or Unlock Widgets. If I unlock the widgets and then right click the taskbar I can: Add Widgets, Lock Widgets, Panal Settings and Remove this Panel. Selecting Panel Settings gives me the same thing as the previous sentenance, but in a band across the width of my monitor. I don't find task manager settings with filters. Sorry to be so dense about this, but I really don't know what I'm doing. -- Stephen P.
