Dunno which MUA you use (can't be bothered looking) but for me it works here correctly by default and for other lists I set my MUA to do the appropriate thing when I hit reply‑list.
Does your MUA not consolidate duplicate deliveries based on Message‑ID? Mine doesn't, being fairly ancient, so I've hacked a delivery script that does it for me. And users@lists.opensuse.org is well‑behaved in that respect.
But all MUAs really should, since SMTP has a notorious timing error that can cause multiple deliveries even to a single address.

I dunno. Never gave it any thought. I use Fetchmail to bring mail in and hand it to a postfix/spamassassin/clamav bodge up and then to my ancient and proprietary system. I do not deliberately mess with any addresses that lists related. joe a.
