Another alternative is to look in /boot at the vmlinuz.config. Load this file after you start make xconfig (or which ever one you choose). - Herman
I think you install the stock kernel and run make oldconfig.

Can anyone tell me how to obtain SuSE's settings for building their standard kernel ? Basically I'm looking to add the VPN Masq patch to my 2.2.19 kernel and would like to build it just the same as the standard SuSE kernel plus the new VPN masq stuff. If I install the lx_suse package for the 2.2.19 kernel does it come with the default settings as standard in the .config file ?
Cheers,
Sean.
