Can anyone tell me how to obtain SuSE's settings for building their standard kernel ? Basically I'm looking to add the VPN Masq patch to my 2.2.19 kernel and would like to build it just the same as the standard SuSE kernel plus the new VPN masq stuff. If I install the lx_suse package for the 2.2.19 kernel does it come with the default settings as standard in the .config file ? Cheers, Sean.
I think you install the stock kernel and run make oldconfig. On Sunday 06 January 2002 17:21, Sean Akers wrote:

Another alternative is to look in /boot at the vmlinuz.config. Load this file after you start make xconfig (or which ever one you choose). - Herman

If you su to root in a console screen change to the Linux source and
do a "make cloneconfig" it will create a .config file. It copies it
from a hidden file that perhaps someone reading this list could better
explain than me (I don't remember from where, sorry).

It's not hidden. make cloneconfig=zcat /proc/config.gz > /usr/src/linux/.config måndagen den 7 januari 2002 07.30 skrev du:
