I just noticed an hour ago, if you open an FTP link in Konqueror, and
right click, under the actions menu you can choose add as YAST
repository.
Very nice.

Perhaps I am just having one of those patiented "duh" moments, but I must ask.
Where are the 'yum' repositories?

and documentation similar to the apt4rpm docs?
Much easier for the user to use. Just add it as an instalation source in Yast. If you have a bunch of rm files yourself (e.g. after using checkinstall, like I do for myself) just do `createrepo /usr/src/packages/RPMS` or wherever you put your rpm's and add that as a source.
So as I see it, from somebody who wants to put a repository (or instalation source) online it is a lot easier. For the user it is also easier, because they can just ignore if it is an official YAST or a YUM (or whetever they are going to add in the future) repository.
No need to read the apt pages.
