Don't try to talk down what I said. I've told the FTC all about AGFA's shady business.
I wasn't, I was just trying to relay my experience with the 1212u that I bought.
Aparantly unless you've lost more than 5000 dollars it isn't worth their time.
Hum..., I have to do some investigating. If what you said is true I would not buy another product from them. So far the only product that I have bought is the 1212u which I am quite happy with (no trouble with SANE and relatively good quality scans for the price). I basically bought it because I wanted a CCD based scanner that was supported by Linux and it was within my price range.
Another thing. They never sent my rebate either. It's been over 2 years now. It may be over 3 years now, but frankly I've now lost track of the exact dates. They ignore me to get removed of their mail list, they don't answer their technical support...
That sucks. No wonder you are angry! I have never had to use their support so I don't know the quality.
The 1212p is not supported by SANE last time I checked. And that was probably about 6 months ago. I highly doubt this has changed.
Oops, I have just checked the SANE page and you are right. Since my 1212u works with a patch, I assumed that it was patching the 1212p driver, but apparently it was a patch to the AGFA SCSI driver. regards, Charles -- The box saids Windows XP or better, so I installed Linux
