I have a working CDRW for backup thats enough.
What I need is recommendation for a simple DVD player / installer so I can load on my box and do network installs for friends. Nothing fancy or expensive is needed.
The box is a P3 / 533 with 256 mb on a SOYO MB with a 40g WD 5400rpm, PS 400w, NIC w RealTec chipset, & External modem.
On IDE1 the master is the WD on a caddy the slave is also caddy mounted but not generally and is 5400rpm. On IDE2 the master is the CDRW LiteON 40x12x48.
Can these DVD handle being on IDE2 slave?
Have I got enough memory?
Currently all hardware working on winblows 98. I intend to move the winblows to a drive of its own and dedicate the WD to Linux perhaps multibooting RH or Mandrake after Suse.
