We do understand that extra repos are extra, not official. Experimental. Ok, fine. But Atri is basically telling us to not install them at all! As Andrei says, why publish gimp for Leap if we are not supposed to install and use it? If a repo is published for Leap, it should at least be installable on Leap and "work", for some value of work. And if it doesn't work, there must be a channel for users to inform devs that it doesn't.
are you not able to report to the builder (information in the repo) that there is problems with the build.
And another selling point for Leap, is that when people say that it is obsolete technology, we can counter that it is basically stable, but that they can get that package they want in a much newer version from the repositories.
it is *unless* one becomes adventurous or careless and adds repos and builds, and is not knowledgable enough to recover his system when problems arise. It is very difficult to protect one from himself, ie: remove power cord and mangle connector. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
