MP3 playing? Are you telling me MP3 decoders are built into SUSE 10 GM?
Topic was 10.0 Box-version, not download version ;-)
Does this imply that the download version contains decoders and other material that SuSE/Novell withholds from the boxed set for legal reasons?
Reverse. I had forgotten that they were talking about the boxed version which actually contains MP3 decoders and other such stuff which is not available in the *OSS* download version. The other download version should contain MP3, however.
Does that also apply to working xine or mplayer and the dcss stuff?
I'm not sure about DeCSS. Is there DeCSS in the boxed version? (Question to others.)
Is there someplace SuSE-ish that I can download readymade rpms for those apps and components, without the usual visit to third parties?
The openSUSE.org wiki should have this info. YaST repositories. But if you got the box, then you won't need the repositories. I think.
Kevin (who just installed from the DVD and has hit only one tiny problem, so far)
And which was that? Did you install from the download DVD or the retail DVD? I'm still downloading the DVD now.
