I know that I am asking this again, but since I did not have anyone anwser I would try again. I have a issue with some fonts not being rendered by the system correctly. In Gimp, the program can see the names of the fonts but will not render them. I installed the freetype plugin and it can render all the fonts correctly. This is odd. The same issue rears it head with using a program with wine. The program sees the fonts but doesn't render them all. I think that it has something to do with how X renders the fonts. OO.org renders the fonts correctly. I'm stuck! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to work? I thought that it might have been some of the new fonts that I added to the system. I removed them and the ones that come with SuSE render fine with Gimp but, in the app that is running with Wine, It still will not render the fonts correctly. Sorry that this is a duplicate of the question that I have already asked but this little issue is driving me up the wall.
Any pointers will be appreciated!
www.usr-local-bin.org Grab the new Gimp 1.3.x packages. They rock. I really like them. They are compiled with GTK2 and if you run the gnome-settings-daemon in the background then not only do they see all the fonts but the program actually looks nice as well. I installed the 1.3.x packages a month ago and they've not given me any issue at all. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.
