On a related note. Why doesn't the k menu show all the newly installed groups. If i right click on it and go to edit I can see for example my wine and crossover groups, but they do not show up in the actual menu and anything i add will not show up either. bjz -----Original Message----- From: neal mcdermott [mailto:neamcd@arczip.com] Sent: Friday, June 21, 2002 3:39 PM To: Damon Register; SuSE Linux Subject: Re: [SLE] SuSE 8 is great! a few questions On Friday 21 June 2002 20:00, Damon Register wrote:
4. I still haven't figured out an easy way to put shortcuts to my favorite programs on the desktop. I know how to create a shortcut and enter info about the application including the executable but I want a simple way to get a shortcut from the program icon. When I click the menu and go to a submenu where I see an app that I want to run, I want to be able to copy that to the desktop like I do with Windows (sorry for mentioning the evil empire).

Have you tried just dragging the item from the menu to the desktop and then select copy? This works for me. Same for dragging programs to the kicker at the bottom of the desktop.
