Hi Anders, Most kind of you to reply..../etc/profile.local does not exist on my system....I will just create it. Thanks Johan
Actually, the file you want is /etc/profile, not profile.local. I suspect that may be why /etc/profile.local doesn't exist.
No, he wants /etc/profile.local. The '.local' files will be read after the original files and you have a way to return to original setup if something is abnormal or whatever. Quite a few of the configuration files are that way (.local) now. An /etc/profile.local did not exist because it needs to be created. re (1st para in /etc/profile): # /etc/profile for SuSE Linux # # PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE /etc/profile.
