Users,
upgrading online some 15.3 to 15.4 just today (beta? rc?) via zypper and golbal parameter --releasever=15.4 went fine over here with a rather simple test system.
Too bad 15.4 is very conservative and old in various software versions and so on. Is a tumbleweed more suited when not wanting to risk stability and not opting in for data loss?
Tumbleweed is where all new features go. And all new problems come with the package too, you are the advance battalion. Then you tell us back here how it went ;-)
it went fine and has for 10 years or so. you spread dis-information and fear and doubt. one must use it to have experience, and you constantly remind us that you will not.
Actually, I have at least one TW install, and I talk from experience.
odd that a system that you do not use causes you so much trouble. I have five local systems with tw, but certainly not the experience that you have. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet oftc
