Congrats, three sentences, and you contradicted yourself in two of them.

I don't think that's a KDE problem. I think I just haven't figured it out.
So what you are saying is that one needs to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to configure KDE4? In other words, it is not intuitive in how it's to be configured?
I was able to change the wallpaper @ ease.
I can do that as well but have you changed the wallpaper for each of the multiple desktops one can have? I use 6 desktops and while in KDE3 I have a different wallpaper for each desktop in KDE4 I am forced to have only the one for ALL desktops. Oh, BTW, I am using KDE4.1 and not the KDE4 supplied in openSUSE 11.0; so for those who keep proclaiming that 4.1 is going to be the panacea for the world's problems- forget it. KDE4 is really "moving and grooving right along, baby!"
KDE4 had less problems with my monitor and video card. Getting mp3 support no problem. Setting up 2 more desktop work places, simple. Setting default browser and e-mail programs. Simple. Changing default paths for desktop and autostart etc. Simple.
KDE4 has nothing to do with your monitor or video card, or getting mp3 to work or setting 'default browser and e-mail programs'!
