Can any one please tell me what the meaning of these various directories under the above directory is:
applications
KDE application binary RPMs
base
KDE base / core binary RPMs
source
Source code RPMs
yast-source
Files that indicate to YaST what's in the repository and where to find it.
The others I don't need.
How can you know what you do and don't need if you don't know what's there? I personally think it's a lot easier to use YaST to install anything that's available in a YaST-compatible repository, resorting to manual RPM installation only when that's not possible. Others will recommend one of the other installers, but I'm only comfortable with YaST, which has always served me well.
