lately, giving it a print job just gets the "Printing Document" on the printer screen but the job NEVER completes.
any suggestions?
FF takes 3-4 minutes to compose a single page with a few images in it. THAT's the problem, I can print the pages one by one. For a dozen page document (at 70%) that would mean 45 minutes but I have seen the process simply fall to pieces instead. The stored images in the page are hi-res constrained down to a few hunded pixels for web speed but I think that the printing 70% conversion routine works with the original images and not the ones already constrained (something like this).
What about exporting it to pdf and printing it from pdf?
It should be: Print from Firefox to pdf
I did that, and then Okular could not print the pdf but Document-Viewer could. This is not a solution for me though, I don't wanna use pdf at all.
Well, even if you don't want to, the Linux print system uses PDF internally. Meaning, Firefox has to convert to PDF and sends that to the printer, behind the scenes. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.2 x86_64 at Telcontar)
